About the project

Hill End is a 60-acre outdoor education and residential centre on the edge of Oxford, founded as a pioneering outdoor school in the 1920s and now welcoming around 24,000 visitors a year. An independent charity since 2017, the centre receives no regular statutory funding and relies on its visitors and supporters.

The consultancy's role

Alix Slater Consultancy & Training helped the centre put together an Expression of Interest to The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
