Vikki Thompson

Associate Specialist, Fundraising

Vikki Thompson has 26 years' experience of fundraising in the heritage and cultural sector for capital projects, education projects and revenue appeals. In 2018 she founded Vikki Thompson Consulting - a fundraising consultancy which has raised more than £14 million to support a range of capital and revenue projects in the heritage, cultural and leisure sectors. Prior to setting up the consultancy Vikki was Head of Fundraising at War Memorials Trust, Head of Friends, Patrons and Legacies at the Imperial War Museums, and Membership and Marketing Manager at the British Museum.

Vikki specialises in fundraising from trusts and foundations, statutory bodies and major donors as well as managing fundraising appeals, writing cases for support and fundraising strategies. Vikki is also experienced in legacy fundraising.

A particular specialism is securing matched funding for National Lottery Heritage Fund projects including: Crystal Palace Park Trust; the Leas Lift funicular railway in Folkestone; and the £49.2 million Hull Maritime project. She has also secured £1.2 million from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for the Foundation for Jewish Heritage.

Other clients have included Brass Bands England, Great Yarmouth Winter Gardens, the churches of St Peter De Beauvoir Town, London and St Edward King and Martyr in Castle Donington.
