Benjamin Kandler

Benjamin joined Alix Slater Consultancy & Training in 2026, after previously working on projects including Severndroog Castle and Strawberry Hill House. His areas of focus are interpretation, activity planning, exhibition design and research.

He also co-founded a consultancy advising commercial clients, artists and institutions on exhibition production, brand partnerships and cultural innovation, working with clients including Clifford Chance.

Committed to non-profit artist causes, he is trained with VocalEyes, sits on the international selectors' committee for the Lumen Prize, and has been an ambassador for the Articulation Prize since 2016 and a judge since 2025.

Previously at Phillips Auctioneers, Benjamin worked in private sales for 20th century and contemporary art and was project lead for digital art globally, leading projects in New York, Hong Kong, Paris and London.

Earlier in his career he held roles as the director of a gallery and worked across the private art sector, music, fashion and tech. He holds a BA in History of Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
